My two kids are the best of friends (well, most of the time.) Cameron is fine when Lexie leaves for kindergarten but after about an hour - he starts to whine that he misses her. Then when we pick her up - he tackles/hugs/kisses her and says "I missssssssed you!!!" When we get home they immediately get back to where they left off. Usually its one of these games (which they have titled so they know what they are playing....
Barbies and Spaceguys - its pretty obvious what this one is. Lexie has a shwack of Barbies and Cam has a shwack of space guys that pretty much come up to Barbie's knees. They set up locations around the house and move from one to another. (Home, school, work, space station, dr's The Barbies are usually in charge (Lexie can only play that way apparently). My favorite part of this game is the names of the spaceguys: Black Goggles, Orange Goggles, Red Goggles, Green Goggles, and Three Goggles. They even have roll call at the "beginning" of the game.
Dogs and Dears - I am not too sure how this one goes but I think it is something like playing House. They go along with their role playing but every comment seems to start with "Dear .... " For example Lexie will say 'Dear, its time to go' to which Cam will reply with 'Ok Dear, where are we going Dear?'. Every line! Usually one of them has a stuffed animal along which is Dog - regardless of whether it is a dog or not. There is a LOT of barking and cat screeching (which is reponse of an imaginary cat that Dog is chasing and is very hard on the ears)! I find this one very funny because I don't know where "Dear" comes from. It is definitely not something that Keith and I call each other! They put the couch pillows in the corner of the living room and that is home. Only one pillow is allowed to "swing" open but Dog is always escaping over arm of the couch. Lexie tried to put her skipping rope around Cam to leash him in but we had to stop that due to some very tight knots that wouldn't come undone one day.
Trucks, Guys and Pet Shops (which are sometimes mixed up with Spaceguys and Barbies if they happen to be on vacation.) - Here they have 'Greenie', 'Orangie', 'Reddie' trucks and Lexie has a bunch of Pet Shops that ride around on the trucks. The Guys service the trucks and walk the Pets. It amazes me that with all the dolls and toys - Lexie remembers the names of all of them and they rarely change. If the names do change they are just added like a middle name. Her one pet is Rory Puppy Tramp Psodo.
Knocking Army Guy - They line up all of Cam's Toy Story green army men on one of the kitchen lino lines. They then run from one end of the room and try to jump over the line but try to take out the guys. Rules are you keep score of how many you take out of line but if you hit the black one you miss a turn. Lexie has amazing addition in this game. Her points usually triple each time and Cam's score goes backwards. Cam gets upset because he never wins. I once made the mistake of saying I would keep score but then Lexie refused to play. Cam was mad at me because I RUINED the game!
Movie Playing - They will pick a movie they have watched and literally play scenes from the movie. Line by line. It is funny to watch because they will play out the scene and when its done, they will switch characters and do it again. Cam plays an awesome Buzz Likeyear and Lexie as Jessie. Its probably my favorite scene. Yes, it probably means they watch too many movies but you do 16 days on your own and see how much tv your kids watch! I have cut them back a lot tho! Just saying.....
***This was prob a boring post but it is hilarious to watch them play these games. The titles and rules are all set and they know exactly how to play. But of course, if Cam forgets any of his lines - Lexie is quick to remind him with a "say this" and "do this Cam!" and of course the "You are NOT listening to me CAM!! Do it MY way!"
